The targeted sector is an entrepreneur, business-to-consumer or business-to-business e-Commerce executive, and a non-technical person who wants to have some handson experience on implementing WordPress CMS, Shopify and/or WIX. By knowing a bit more on how these content management system work, the senior executive can make more informed decision on the best website design for the corporation. For the technical person who intends to move into WordPress installation, this course provides a good overview of what this CMS is.

WordPress is the world’s most popular content management system powering 34% of all websites on the internet. On top of that:
● WordPress has a 60.8% market share in the CMS market
● WordPress powers 14.7% of the world’s top websites
● 500+ sites are built each day using WordPress while only 60-80 per day are built on platform like Shopify and Squarespace
● The WordPress Plugin Directory features 55,000+ plugins
● WooCommerce powers 22% of the top 1 million ecommerce sites in the world
Objectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to deploy CMS that follows and adheres to the content management guidelines and policies
  • Understand how to discover what experience customer desire on the web and apply it
  • Know how to present web properties and assets to on the website in accordance to desired user experience 
  • Determine a list of CMS plug-ins required for customer experience, security, speed and SEO ranking
  • Able to post the SEO-optimized static pages and dynamic postsCompare WordPress with Shopify and WIXCreate performance metrics for the content management

Target Audience

Minimum passed the equivalent of GCE ‘A’ levels or Workplace Literacy Level 4 and Workplace Numeracy Level 4.

Assumed skills:
● Be able to operate laptop and mobile devices, e.g. tablet or smartphone.
● Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (“ES WSQ”) Workplace Literacy (“WPL”) level 4
● Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Literacy (“WPL”) level 4.
● Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (“WPN”) level 4.
● No work experience required.

Instructor

Pamela Lim

Founder 
Pamela Lim has more than 30 years' experience as an entrepreneur, professor and business trainer. She was the first Singaporean to achieve a NASDAQ-SGX listing (2001) as a pioneer in e-business.
Subsequently, she spent 10 years as a professor at Singapore Management University nurturing young entrepreneurs in crafting their businesses including their digital media and social media strategies. Dozens of her protégés have gone on to become some of the most successful entrepreneurs in Asia.
She has won countless awards including:
  • Singapore’s Top 10 Female entrepreneur in 1999 (finalist),
  • The Most Promising Female Entrepreneur in 2000 (winner) and
  • Netrepreneur of the Year in 2001 (winner).
Pamela has developed numerous private multimillion-dollar projects using the same social media strategies she teaches in the classroom. As a passionate educator, in 2014 she founded All Gifted, an online high school with thousands of students internationally.
